Engineering is the application of science and maths to solve problems. Real engineers are problem solvers. Engineering as a career option has attracted students in India in a big way.Competitive Exams for Engineering:
JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) is a national level undergraduate entrance exam for Engineering. The exams are of the objective pattern. JEE is an examination through which one gets admitted to the IIT, which is a college . It is constituted by two different examinations - JEE Main and the JEE Advanced.
The erstwhile AIEEE exam will now be called as JEE-MAIN exam and erstwhile IIT-JEE will now be called as JEE-ADVANCED exam.
GATE exam (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a examination that primarily tests the conducted at the national level in India with a focus on the understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. It is a computer-based standardized test.
All India Engineering Entrance Examinations ( AIEEE ) national level competitive test is for admission to various under-graduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the AIEEE score, mainly 30 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and 5 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). It is an examination organised by the National Testing Agency in India.
There are 8 semesters that build the 4 years of any engineering course. The first two semesters or the first year comprises of common subjects like mathematics, physics chemistry, etc which are the same for all the students of first year. The remaining 3 years comprise of subjects of the particular branch chosen.
